The One Percent Society

Our story began in the vibrant city of Las Vegas at a personal development event, where two women from completely different backgrounds crossed paths. What started as a chance encounter quickly blossomed into a transformational journey. In each other, we found common ground—whether it was our shared experience in the same company, our love for Disney World, or our struggles with divorce and feelings of loss, worthiness, and purpose. It was in those moments of vulnerability that we discovered the power of connection and the importance of community.

We believe that God places us in rooms with people we didn’t even know we needed. Through our friendship, we have learned that we are not alone in our struggles, and it is our mission to ensure that no woman feels isolated in her journey. We want you to know that perfection is overrated; what truly matters is the commitment to becoming just 1% better each day

Laurie

Laurie Kennedy is a Colorado-based author, entrepreneur, and mentor with more than two decades of experience in the nonprofit world. A #1 international best-selling author and executive producer of When My Soul Speaks, Laurie is known for her passion for helping women rediscover purpose and joy in midlife.

Laurie co-founded The One Percent, a community-driven movement that empowers women to overcome challenges and build thriving lives. Her signature events with The One Percent include Dream Big, Plan Bigger and Awakening You, as well as retreats like Redefining You, focus on creating transformative growth and connection.

With a mission to inspire women in midlife, Laurie helps her clients embrace joy, find clarity, and confidently pursue the life they’ve always dreamed of. Her programs combine actionable tools, meaningful reflection, and a strong sense of community to create lasting change.

Outside of her work, Laurie is a devoted dog mom, bonus mom, and soon-to-be wife. She loves baking, singing karaoke, traveling, and driving her signature pink Jeep. A true Disney enthusiast, Laurie brings energy and positivity to everyone she meets.

Shica is a seasoned event planner with over 20 years of experience, celebrated for creating memorable events for global icons like Shaquille O'Neal and Justin Timberlake, as well as major brands including Coca-Cola and Home Depot.

With a track record of over 500 weddings and a positive impact on more than 50,000 lives, her professional journey is a reflection of her passion for excellence.

Beyond her career, Shica is a devoted mom, wife, Gigi, and dog mom, who finds joy in her family and a love for all things Disney.

Inspired by her own journey of personal growth, she is dedicated to helping women recognize and embrace their beauty from the inside out.

Shica's mission is to foster a supportive community where women can uplift one another and redefine their futures.
